Simon Jones, Vice President
Simon Jones is Vice President at Solimar International and has 15 years of experience in the tourism field focused on elements of the entire tourism system, including strategic and business planning, market research, policy, tourism standards, business operations, product development, market access, training and e-marketing. In addition to working with small and micro-enterprises, Simon has experience developing and implementing action-oriented strategies for governments, destinations, parks, and tourism associations in countries around the world; helping these entities assess their role in the tourism sector and connect them to their respective markets.
In addition to working for Solimar International, Simon’s experience includes work for The National Geographic Society, The Conservation Fund, the U.S. Department of State, George Washington University, and the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy (Kenya). He has also worked as a researcher at the International Institute of Tourism Studies, as Ecotourism Coordinator for The Conservation Fund, a Safari Guide in Kenya and Tanzania, and a Ranger in the North Carolina Zoo. Simon holds a Masters of Tourism Administration from the School of Business at The George Washington University, Washington, DC.
