Solimar’s team of skilled individuals utilizes their mixture of industry and academic experience combined with local partners knowledge of the destination to analyze and assess a destination’s tourism assets, capacity, and potential. This is achieved through a mixture or participatory assessment and market analysis. Inputs often include: • Supply side inventory and analysis • Demand side profiles (existing and potential) • Internal and external influences • Resident attitudes and profiles • Destination needs, issues, opportunities, and challenges To achieve real results a strategic plan has to be owned by those that are implementing it. Therefore Solimar does not lead strategic planning efforts, rather Solimar facilitates partners conceptualize of their vision, helps them define their goals, and outline the actions that will move them in the direction they wish to take.
